1976
Mr. André Grenier acquired the Handy Handy store in Rouyn-Noranda.
1978
The company became LBG Auto Center, operating primarily in the automotive field and, later, in industrial painting. Interestingly, the letters LBG are the initials of Mr. Grenier’s wife, Lise Blais Grenier, who worked with him all these years.
1988
After a decade of building its expertise through the diversification of specialized products, specific training and the addition of teammates with significant experience in the field, LBG moved to Québec Avenue, a location it still occupies.
2005
The company’s name changed to Centre de peinture LBG inc.
2011
Mr. Christian Neveu and Mr. Richard Harrisson took the reins of the company to ensure its long-term success. Since, the two partners have been working to develop and modernize the company. In particular, they invested in new equipment to optimize paint preparation, facilitate the team’s work, and serve customers more efficiently.
2021
The team won the Customer Service award at the gala held as part of the concours Extra of the Chambre de commerce et d’industrie de Rouyn-Noranda.
2023
Centre de Peinture LBG is taking a turning point: a business succession process is underway. A new partnership is taking shape, allowing two employees to become shareholders. Francis Boissonneault and René Lévesque, with 10 and 25 years of service respectively, are now business partners with Mr. Neveu and Mr. Harrisson. Olivier Bergeron is joining the team as a sales representative and will eventually become a shareholder. With a commitment and collaboration in mind, this new group aims to continue the company’s mission and ensure its sustainability.
2025
Our sales representative, Olivier Bergeron, is certified NACE CIP 1 Inspector. He joins Mr. Neveu who has also been certified since 2020.
2026
2026 marks our 50th business anniversary in Rouyn-Noranda and Abitibi-Témiscamingue ! Over the years, we have built our expertise through the systematic transfer of acquired knowledge and experiences, ongoing training, and exceptional customer service. We intend to continue these winning practices so that our company remains a leading name in residential, commercial, and industrial painting in the region and beyond! LBG will reach the venerable age of 50 on December 13, 2026!
